Best local ice cream shop, love the owners and that they run the place

This shop is wonderful! The owners are friendly, the store is cute and the homemade ice cream is excellent! It was the perfect place to stop on our drive to Lansing since it's right off the highway. I think stopping here may become a tradition!

Stated online they serve coffee. Arrive to the business, in the window says now serving coffee. Once I get inside and start to order the young lady working there says nope no coffee today. Umm ok if I would have known that I would never have never got off the interstate....

Wow! All I can say is wow, the place is situated in downtown Portland it is Under New Management and ownership they have taken and raise the bar and offer a great experience for family and friends together they've added more ice cream choices and it's excellent I would highly recommend it

The flavors! Strawberry tastes like they are fresh off the vine! The Almond Joy tastes like you have made a quick stop in Heaven for some ice cream. Prices are exceptional too.

This is our absolute favorite ice cream store. The owners are fabulous and very friendly. We use the punch cards to get free cones and have even bought our own gallons from them.

Chocolate moose is AWESOME.They have over 60+ flavors of the cream-iest ice cream I've had in a long, long time. When I went in the owner was there who is an older gentleman. He was SO friendly!Definitely check it out after the walk on the trail.

Stopped in for ice cream with my husband. Each had different flavours of ice cream, both were freezer burned. 2 stars because the girls working there were friendly.

This place is amazing. Ice cream made right on site, super welcoming folks working it, and the ice cream is delicious. Just plain old delicious. The only negative (and I know that this is going sound funny), but the portions were actually too big. I'm not just saying that. I bought the small and regretted eating all of it because it was so gigantic, it was overwhelming. So keep that in mind.

Great place yummy ice cream but definitely call ahead the hours on Google are not correct. Unfortunately we learned this the hard way. Google says open until 9 on Sundays Facebook page says open until 8 on Sundays the girl working today (Sunday) said they closed at 7.

The ice cream is delicious and refreshing, there are lots of flavors and the prices are more than fair.

I had the best ice cream I've had in a very long time today. I had the Butterfinger flavor in a cone. Very generous helpings. The absolute creamiest ice cream you can get. I live near MSU and go to the MSU Dairy Store regularly. This place beats them hands down. If you want the best ice cream, the way it's supposed to be made, I recommend you go to Chocolate Moose as fast as you can.

Small, quaint place, family owned. Jamie is a sweetheart and the ice cream so delicious!!! I had the lemon cheesecake & my wife the maple walnut. They make their own ice cream. I highly recommend it for a quick coffee & ice cream stop. They serve food as well but we’ve not had the chance to sample.

I couldn't believe how many different flavors the Chocolate Moose had! They had everything from classic flavors to unexpected and new flavors. The staff was super friendly and the ice cream was delicious. Very fairly price. I will definitely go back when I'm in the Portland area again.

The ice cream here is homemade and fantastic, they owners are friendly and so are all of the employees. It's not typically very busy, so it's pretty peaceful. They have a selection of not only ice cream, but also sandwiches, bagels, and other foods. A great place to grab a coffee or ice cream with a friend.

When I first came into this ice cream parlor as a little kid, I never thought of how many flavors they had. It was a huge list! The owners are truly just amazing and they make sure you have a great experience. Serving sizes are just amazing as well, the double is good enough for me and I eat a lot!My plan before I graduate is to try every single flavor, so hopefully I successfully complete it :)

As weary travelers we stopped here and all were so kind. The son of whom I think were owners got my daughters crayons and coloring pages. A patron- bought our ice cream and coffee- and this just totally made our day. Highly recommend!
